Looking to drop grams off a road or even cross-country bike without giving up durability, Ceetec has a new C1 line of ultralight full carbon saddles for you. Swiss premium frame & component maker Ceetec just dropped a new saddle design into their ever-expanding product line-up.
Ceetec C1 saddles: lightweight, full carbon & Swiss-made
Taking advantage of the same in-house carbon design & manufacturing expertise they put into crafting XC World Cup proved seatposts, bars & wheels, the C1 family of saddles are Ceetec’s next race-ready creation. As with pretty much everything Ceetec makes, the C1 saddle went through design, engineering development, prototyping, mold-making & tooling, through to production in-house in Switzerland.
That lets Ceetec maintain a high quality standard, even if it does bring with it a corresponding high pricetag. But Ceetec is also always proud to say that while many pro athletes ride whatever sponsors provide, the majority of the actual Ceetec gear we usually spot on World Cup XC bikes is actual bought by the athletes themselves since Ceetec still has a tiny sponsorship program.
Using a full carbon shell with a pressure relief cutout, the C1 is available in four iterations: Fiber Pure as the standard model, Fiber Pure SL which sheds a few extra grams, Fiber Cover which adds a grippy microtex top, and Fiber Cover Soft that also gets a layer of padding.
All four share the same 250mm long x 148mm wide “Power Force” carbon shell, plus a single loop carbon fiber rail structure bonded to the shell. The oval carbon rails feature a long 90mm clamping area allowing for plenty of fore-aft adjustment.
All of the C1 saddles share the same 110kg total rider+kit weight limit, and are recommended for racing road, TT, XC & cross-country marathon.
Pricing, options & availability
At 410CHF/~365€ the C1 Fiber Pure is the core of the new family of light carbon saddles. With a claimed weight of 111g, it comes in a UD carbon finish that Ceetec tops off with a clearcoat offering a bit of grip so the rider doesn’t slide around.
If you are totally counting grams, for just a bit more at 431CHF/~384€, the C1 Fiber Pure SL claims to hit a weight of 105g. Ceetec does that by omitting any extra finish. The SL comes straight out of the mold, available in either UD or a 3K weave top layer.
The 465CHF/~414€ C1 Fiber Cover starts to add a bit more comfort with a 1.5mm thick black microtex synthetic cover for more natural saddle grip. The modicum of extra comfort with a proper saddle cover brings the C1 Fiber Cover up to 143g.
For proper comfort, the 486CHF/~433€ C1 Fiber Cover Soft puts that same synthetic cover on top of 4mm of memory foam padding, bringing it up to just 152g.
Beyond these standard iterations, at this pricepoint custom is possible as well. Ceetec will make the covered versions in other colors of microtex to match your kit, with a real leather cover if you prefer, or with customized levels of padding to meet individual rider needs.
