From Bart at Southpark Cycles:  The City Wide Bike Plan which began last October is scheduled to come before the City Council session today (Sept. 8th) and City Council needs to hear from you! The future of bicycling in the City of Charlotte is at stake

***  Charlotte needs cycling connectivity to greenways, to neighborhood amenities and to the LYNX light rail -ÂÂ
*** Charlotte must have bicycle education programs in schools and the workplace –
HOW TO HELP:
IN PERSON – Bring yourself, your helmet and your friends Monday nite. Meeting begins at 7 pm in Char-Meck Government Center (bike racks on the GC plaza). If you wish to find out what time during the meeting the Bike Plan discussion will take place or if you want to sign up to speak to Council, you need to contact City Clerk’s office @ 704.336.2248 anytime prior to the meeting.
BY EMAIL – Contact City Council with support emails for unanimous approval addressed to “City Council via Anthony Foxx, Chairperson of Transportation Committee”. Send emails to martinzimmerman8@yahoo.com so they can be consolidated and forwarded to Mr. Foxx by noon next Monday.
