UK bag-maker Restrap pairs up with David Millar’s Girona-based CHPT3 for a special edition CHPT3 x Restrap Limited Run of small on-bike bags. Featuring the CHPT3 Devesa pattern printed-on & laser-cut into their Canister Bag, Tool Roll & Musette, Restrap sees these as a tidy way to pack for smaller adventures – in town or edging away from civilization – without overdoing it with bigger bikepacking bags…
Restrap x CHPT3 Limited Run 03 special edition small bike bags
Restrap started their first Limited Run series a year and a half ago to take advantage of their growing in-house customization capabilities for their entirely UK-made bikepacking bags. This new set of Limited Run bags developed as a collaboration with CHPT3 uses both hand screen printing with reflective ink for added visibility, and the more subtle laser-etching.
The Devesa design of threes that adorns the limited edition bags is said to evoke a familiar bark pattern from trees in CHPT3 base in Catalonia. And the three bags that get the Devesa treatment are Restrap’s popular Cannister bar bag, the Tool Roll saddle bag, and a classic Musette shoulder bag.
Restrap Canister Bag small handlebar pack
We got a first look at Restrap’s 1.5L Canister bag as part of Limited Run 02 in polka dots, then a few weeks later in more detail at Eurobike. It’s a simple little bag meant to free up a few jersey pockets of things like extra snacks, a camera, and an extra jacket – weighing just 116g. A couple of small loop straps cinch it to the bar, meant to be narrow enough to not interfere with hand positions.
The main body of the £55 / 66€ Canister Bag is black 1000D Cordura with the reflective CHPT3 printing and a waterproof YKK zipper. Inside the bag is lined with waterproof red nylon to make it easy to find small items, and on each end is a small stretchy mesh pocket for snacks or small tools. It also gets a small loop to attach a blinkie front light.
Restrap Musette simple shoulder bag
The £30 / 36€ Musette is even more simple. The classic over-the-shoulder feedbag is made from a waterproof polyurethane-coated nylon with the reflective CHPT3 print, lined with the same waterproof red nylon to make it easy to see inside (claimed weight 250g).
Again, the 3L Musette isn’t intended to be entirely waterproof, but to offer some protection to anything you put inside. A couple of snaps secure it shut, and an adjustable shoulder strap lets you pull it tight for riding.
Restrap Tool Roll saddle bag
The £40 / 48€ Tool Roll is both more subtle and high-tech. It is made from durable Hypalon synthetic rubberized fabric that Restrap laser cuts & and laser etches. The 90g tool roll gets four slots inside to organize your standard repair kit: multi-tool, tire levers, CO2 & small spares; plus an elastic loop to secure a spare tube.
A fold-down top flap keeps everything in place before you roll it up and loop the outer elastic strap around the whole thing. Slip it into a jersey pocket or other bag, or attach the removable strap to cinch it up under the saddle with a secure but easy-to-use quick release magnetic buckle.
