Portland, Oregon’s alchemy masters of color, Chris King Precision Components is at it again. Their new re-release color is bursting through the dreary, grey skies of the PNW like it’s from a tropical island paradise. That’s right kids, after an 18-month-long vacation, the popular and tropical color, Matte Mango is back.
Matte Mango will be a part of CK’s 2024 color assortment from now on. That means it’ll be a permanent fixture in the blingy line with the rest of the crowd, like Black, Matte Black, Two Tone Black Gold, Midnight, Matte Turquoise, Red, Silver, Gold, and 3D Violet.
If you remember, Chris King was one of the first component companies to offer color anodization, back in 1988. They are adding and removing colors to and from the collection, like adding 3D Violet back to the line that first appeared in ’88.
“Consistent, high-quality anodizing isn’t easy. Without constant monitoring and attention to detail, anodizing can vary from batch to batch, and from material to material. We take great care to ensure that every customer gets a headset, bottom bracket, and hubs that closely match,” states King Sales Manager, Greg Hudson.
Hudson continues, “In 2022, we were struggling to consistently get our Matte Mango within tolerance, which caused production delays and increased our lead-times. Instead of shipping mismatched components to discerning customers who expect the very best, we removed Matte Mango from the assortment. Now, we’re excited to welcome one of our favorite colors back!”
