Today in Portland, Chris King, the PNW bike bling specialists, added a new color to its inline color lineup. Introducing Matte Jade. Jade has a centuries-old history of mystery, distinction, and craftsmanship. A perfect fit for the Chris King lineup.

So, we chose this rich, matte jade color,” said Jay SyCip, Design Manager. “Some of the colors we choose are subtle, meant to serve as background for the bike frame’s aesthetics, and some are meant to stand out, to be bold accents. Jade can actually be either one. It has an elegance that can set off bolder colors, or it can be the star on a more subdued bike“.

The new Matte Jade color, like all of Chris King’s colors, is a reflection of CK’s commitment to crafting beautiful, high-performance bicycle components that function flawlessly. While also allowing the riders to make their rides stand out in a crowd.

The new Jade color is available today and will be used across all Chris King components. That includes headsets (excluding GripNut headsets), hubs, bottom brackets, wheels, seatpost collars, and centerlock lockrings.

King ensured that Jade colored components have been meticulously matched across all product categories. They do this with all of their colors. It means a consistent look from headset to hub, and from bottom bracket to seat collar.

Jade Up Close at MADE

We will be seeing this precious stone of a color up close and personal at this year’s MADE Show. Chris King has teamed up with many of the brands that are attending the show, and the brands like Moots, Seven, Mosaic, Destroy, Mischief, Eyewater, and LeMarche will be showcasing the new color.

Also, Chris King has partnered with Block 15 Brewing to produce a limited-edition Jade Buzzworks West Coast IPA. I will make sure to sample and report back! The beer is crafted with a blend of Simcoe, Citra, and Eclipse hops. These flavors bring bright citrus and stone fruit notes, which are complemented by crisp malt to produce a top-tier West Coast IPA.

This beer will not only be available at the show, but will also be available through Block 15’s distribution area this Fall.

Haha, I went all out the day they dropped matte bourbon. Still have some stock!

I second the return of matte bourbon! I’m struggling to come up with more than a couple good applications for the jade. Maybe with a dark green frame (think TdF green jersey nod) or a satin blasted titanium frame.

Pink would go perfectly with jade

First time I’ve seen a CK rotor lock ring … that’s quite nice. They should be included with the hub.

I have never ever been able to get a complete lineup of King (or Wolf Tooth or anyone else who offers cool colors) components all in the same color. Murphry’s Law says you won’t be able to either.

Here’s to all Jade … and a black BB.

I’m looking forward to your in depth IPA review. Perhaps a live stream…

I just wish they’d do sotto voce Aeroset 3s and make some alloy apacers to match.
