For fans of electronic shifting, or at least the curious, we’ll have a full ride report/review on the new Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic group in a little more than a week. Until then, we’ve started spotting a few test groups on early 2012 models and snapped these photos. So, assuming there are no production delays, you should start seeing this stuff on bikes in your local shop later this year! More pics after the break…
As owner of DA Di2 for 2 years now all I can say is this is great as mid to higher end full built bikes will now be equipped with U-Di2.
By the time Campag comes out with their electric and make it affordable it will be too late – again… as Shimano will again dominate the field. Campags answer… why they will just add another cog to 11 lol
Is there someone who actually thinks that Campy has the financial resources to compete with Shimano? Uhm, I don’t. Does Campy’s corporate strategy focus on competing with Shimano head to head? Uhm, I don’t think so.
Apparently, electronic groups on the key–or the only key–to success. SRAM seems to be doing just fine going head to head with Shimano, and there haven’t even been rumors of SRAM working on an electronic group. So much for that whole “too little, too late” idea.
