Yesterday, Continental Tires announced a Collector’s Edition of one of its most popular road bike tires, the Grand Prix 5000 S TR, to promote its ‘Share the Road’ campaign. The brand collaborated with multi-time Tour de France winner and World Champion (the list goes on and on), Tadej Pogačar, on this unique product offering. The special edition tire features custom Pogačar labeling and, perhaps more importantly, includes a “Pogi” collectible, a character created to promote Continental’s road safety campaign.

Continental’s ‘Share the Road’ campaign has a core mission of “promoting road safety, mutual respect, and harmonious existence for everyone on the road.” A big part of this initiative is the “Pogi” character, which was co-created by Tadej Pogačar and Continental. “Pogi” will be featured in a series of animated stories, like the one below, highlighting the message that “the roads belong to everyone.”

Beyond the “Pogi” collectible, which is most definitely “not a toy”, the Collector’s Edition Grand Prix 5000 S TR comes with custom Pogačar labeling on the hot patch, along with “hundreds of micro Tadej Pogačar logos subtly integrated into the Grand Prix 5000 S TR lettering.” Otherwise, the Pogačar Edition features Continental’s BlackChili Compound, Vectran Breaker, Active Comfort Technology, and Lazer Grip, making it a popular tire many riders already know and love.
