Bragging rights: Priceless.
$50,000 to $75,000 is what Cape Girardeau is estimating it needs to raise in order to get the town ready for being a city host for September’s Tour of Missouri pro stage race.
On September 8, Stage 2 of the event will roll through their town, and they anticipate volunteer needs to be around 100 people.  I’m posting this because this is similar to one of the questions we recently posed to the organizers of the Tour of California in an email interview…What does a city do to become a host of a tour stop?  I’m still waiting to hear back from the ToC guys.  In the meantime, you can read the Missouri story about Cape Girardeau’s efforts here.
