Gravel is the new road, and the new Cube Nuroad is their reimagined gravel bike family. Cube just started rolling out a bunch of new bikes & e-bikes for 2021, but it’s their mixed-surface off-road road range that gets the best updates. Their popular versatile & affordable NuRoad gravel bike gets an all-new C:62 carbon frame upgrade, while the alloy Nuroad HPA gets the same comfort tweaks too. There’s more Cube off-road road to get a peek at, but let’s first hit the gravel…
2021 has arrived at Cube with 9 all-new gravel bikes
It can totally be a slog to dig through a complete model year update from a broad bike brand like Germany’s Cube. Look… it even took them a half hour to walk around the showroom in that video above. And while we haven’t got to spend as much face-to-face time with Cube’s development team this year because of restricted travel, we dug through to separate the wheat from the chaff. And this year, it’s coming up road, but off-road…
2021 Cube Nuroad C:62 carbon gravel bike
OK, gravel is hot, so Cube’s Nuroad finally gets a carbon refresh. Refined based on their previous aluminum Nuroad, the Nuroad C:62 gets Cube’s mid-level hi-mod carbon construction (62% carbon fiber to 38% resin ratio) for a plenty of lightweight, durability & vibration damping.
Now available in five frames sizes (XS-XL), tire clearance jumps on the new full carbon model, up to 700c x 45mm tires.
It still retains the versatility of the original with hidden rear rack mounts, plus bosses for full fenders front & rear (40mm tire clearance with fenders).
The flat mount disc, 12mm thru-axle carbon gravel bike gets internal routing, a semi-integrated seatclamp for the 27.2 seatpost, and even dynamo routing in the full carbon tapered steerer fork.
2021 Nuroad C:62 – Pricing & spec
2021 Cube Nuroad C:62 Pro
The carbon Nuroad C:62 comes in three complete bike builds sharing the same frameset. The cheapest 2100€ Nuroad C:62 Pro gets a GRX 1×11 group, 24mm internal Fulcrum wheels with 40mm Schwalbe tires for a 9.1kg weight claim.
2021 Cube Nuroad C:62 Race
The mid-spec 2700€ Nuroad C:62 Race gets a wider-geared GRX 2×11 setup but lighter carbon cockpit & alloy Newmen Evolution SL gravel wheels to bring the weight down to 8.5kg to cover longer riders faster.
2021 Cube Nuroad C:62 SL
Then, the top 4100€ Nuroad C:62 SL goes to a wireless SRAM Force/Eagle AXS 1×12 mullet transmission for maximum hill-climb potential, and the carbon version of the Newmen Evolution SL gravel wheels – claimed weight 7.8kg.
2021 Cube Nuroad HPA alloy gravel bikes, too
2021 Cube Nuroad Pro (left), EX (center) & Race (right)
If you still prefer aluminum. The hydroformed & butted alloy Nuroad gets updated again too – in the same 5-size range – with similar dropped stays for extra comfort, the bigger 45mm tire clearance, and rack & fender mounts. Six different complete bike builds models are available, starting with the three core: 1100€ Nuroad Pro with 2×10 Tiagra, 1500€ Nuroad EX with GRX 1×11 & 1600€ Nuroad Race with GRX 2×11.
2021 Cube Nuroad Pro FE (left & Race FE (right)
The Pro & Race also get FE “Fully Equipped” builds that for 200€ extra add full-coverage fenders with integrated pannier rack stays in the back & rear light for max versatility.
2021 Cube Nuroad WS
Interestingly, there’s a women’s series model that looks to get the exact Pro spec of 2×10 Tiagra, but is a bit cheaper at least in Euros at 1050€. The Nuroad WS sticks to the four smaller sizes (XS-L) with the same geometry, but gets a nice “smoky lilac” paint job, WS saddle, and nice & shiny SupaCaz Bling Oilslick bar tape.
All of the new Nuroad bikes are available to order now from your local Cube dealer. Availability from online shops is expected to start rolling out later this month. Not all models & sizes are immediately available though, so hit up your dealer for the specifics.

having a bunch of cubes myself (a 2016 agree carbon b&w, plus a lightening-disc 2017 flash-red and an alloy ams-110 mtb (anodized black)) I have to say, these color schemes on display/offer are their worst paintjob selection ever ! but it could be just me …

I have the nuroad pro 2019 black red. I love it
These days you should be able to customise paint for a premium. Also I agree. There’s alot of colours out there. And those aren’t the most attractive pallettes per bike.
Perhaps they should shake up the art department. Also, not a fan of compulsory sand rim tyres. I that too should also be a selection choice.
In fact, compared with bicycles of the same price, there is no big difference. I suggest you choose the color you like

Horrible geo for taller riders. There’s nothing on the xl/61cm that has a 61cm dim. 73sa is criminal. 592tt is second in line for ridiculous spec. Go back to the drawing board.

Hi Jeff,
I’m curious to know what you think about the geo for the atlas 6.7 in xl… i’m 6’5 and struggle to find a nice gravel. Thanks a lot 😉
