Using their signature 3D-printed titanium frame sections as the standard model, the new J Laverack GRIT 57 layers the metal to fit monstrous 57mm wide tires, equivalent to 29×2.25″.

The bike shown here is a custom build of the AM64 UDH frame for a customer that wanted bigger tires, and it’s fitted with Continental RaceKing 29×2.2 tires. Full build list below, along with a big gallery of photos. But first, here’s a video overview of this build…

Technically, and despite the model naming here, the GRiT fits 700x58mm tires…important if you’re nitpicking about the difference between 2.24″ and 2.25″. Or 650Bx50mm if you prefer the smaller wheels.

The bottom bracket and headtube are their “Streamline” design, which adds circumference around the functional bits to better hide cables, hoses, and wires. And the bottom of the headtube is widened to aesthetically match modern forks.

  • GRiT 57 II AM64 UDH – 60cm frame
  • Pave frame finish
  • Deco Frame Graphics
  • Engraved headbadge
  • Deda Gera Curvy Gravel Disc Fork

And? You do realize that women can be strong riders, too, right? And you do realize there’s no shortage of female riders that could drop you, irrespective of gearing, right?

And? They need some gears on that thing to break 15mph..

And you’re the one that made the dumb comment referencing women.

Men, women, and children will drop them running a 40 or a 50 around here (Michigan).

The fastest gear with this size tire is good for 45kph at 90rpm I doubt you can turn that for very long in the flat. And descending you are better of tucking in anyway. The days of hero gears are over I’d rather spin out some times that start walking up a steep hill.
