Italian component brand Deda is leaning hard into versatility, but for a single wheel. It seems that 2026 is already the year of the “do-it-all-road-wheel,” and with that, Deda launches an all-new Allroad Carbon wheelset. The wheelset is a modernly wide, tubeless-ready carbon option designed to hop the sidewalk between road and gravel riding.

Rather than splitting its carbon lineup into narrowly focused categories, Deda positions the Allroad Carbon as a catch-all wheelset. We’re seeing this more and more: a wheelset equally at home on paved roads, rough backcountry routes, and mixed-surface riding. A wheelset where tire choice and durability matter just as much as weight and efficiency.

At the center of the Allroad Carbon design is a 27mm internal rim width, a clear signal that Deda is building around today’s larger-volume tires. The wheels are optimized for tires 35mm to 51mm. The “middle of the gravel” sizing should cover everything from endurance road setups to full-volume gravel rubber without compromising stability or handling.

Externally, the rims measure a claimed 33mm wide and 36mm deep, with a semi-deep profile, similar to the ENVE and BOYD wheels launched yesterday. This profile should balance aerodynamics, compliance, and predictable crosswind behavior. The complete wheelset weighs 1,430 grams (slightly heavier than the aforementioned wheels). The rims are UCI-approved and fully tubeless-ready, compatible with both tubeless and clincher tires.

Filament-Wound Construction

Deda builds the Allroad Carbon rims using a continuous-filament winding process rather than traditional layered carbon sheets. The brand says this automated production method allows for a more uniform structure with fewer inconsistencies. It also improves impact resistance while maintaining a high strength-to-weight ratio.

The rim construction combines high-modulus carbon fibers with a UD/3K carbon composite. Deda chose this to balance between stiffness, durability, and ride comfort, especially important for riders spending long hours on rougher terrain

New Allroad Hubs With Faster Engagement

The wheels roll on Deda’s new Allroad hubs, an evolution of its RS hub platform. The standout feature is a dual 40-tooth ratchet system that halves the engagement angle compared to the previous generation, enabling a quicker response when returning to power.

A redesigned internal layout places one ratchet inside the freehub body and the other inside the hub flange. Both are supported by a cylindrical spring and a dedicated washer to reduce friction and improve long-term reliability. The hub bodies are machined from AL7075 aluminum and spin on steel bearings, prioritizing durability over marginal weight savings.

Disc compatibility is Center Lock, with standard 12×100mm front and 12×142mm rear thru-axle spacing. Shimano and SRAM XDR freehub options are available

Built-in RFID Product Verification

One unique addition is integrated RFID technology, embedded directly into the rim. Using a smartphone with NFC capability, riders can scan the wheel to verify authenticity, register the product, and extend the warranty — a feature Deda is rolling out across its higher-end wheel lineup for 2026

I’m kinda confused on the term “all road” that some manufacturers use. Can I ride a typical gravel ride that may consist of bumpy, rocky singletrack? are they too slow and non aero to use on a fast group road ride?

Agreed, different manufacturers mean different things when calling something “all road”. I’d call an endurance road bike with 35mm clearance all road.

Deda takes it to the next level. Calling them optimised for 35 to 51mm, yet they are aero optimised for 32mm tyres.
