Gravel riding is a versatile discipline – It can draw in the gravel racers, fitness-minded riders looking for more excitement than paved roads offer, mountain bikers looking for underbiking challenges, or even bikepackers and backcountry explorers cranking out all-day rides on varying terrain. Devinci Cycles’ updated Hatchet lineup is just as versatile, with high-performance carbon models, budget-friendly aluminum framed options, and even a pedal-assisted E-Hatchet.

The new Hatchet lineup is comprised of three models– The Hatchet PRO, Hatchet Vista, and the E-Hatchet Tour. Devinci is offering three builds for the PRO model, two for the Vista model, and just one for the E-Hatchet Tour. Check out the details and specs on the whole lineup below.

Devinci Hatchet PRO:

Devinci Hatchet PRO, frame, close

The new Hatchet PRO boasts a completely redesigned carbon OSC (Optimal Strength Carbon) frame. All three Hatchet PRO builds come with a full carbon OSC fork.

The revised frame features a more aerodynamic shape and is significantly stiffer than the previous version. Devinci also uses size-specific carbon layups to ensure that all frame sizes wind up with consistent stiffness levels.

Devinci has tuned the frame’s stiffness by employing a unique layup of high-strength and high-modulus carbon fibers. The lower part of the Hatchet PRO’s frame is strengthened to ensure efficient power transfer and optimal lateral stiffness. The upper half is kept leaner, providing compliance and ride comfort.

Devinci Hatchet PRO, Shed frame storage

As in-frame storage is quickly gaining popularity beyond MTBs, Devinci has included their Shed storage system in the Hatchet PRO’s downtube. A zippered tool bag is included with each bike. For hydration, all frame sizes offer ample room for two water bottles.

Keeping things looking slick, Devinci went with thru-headset internal cable routing. The Hatchet PROs run Acros IPS (Internal Protection Sealing) headsets, designed to keep the bearings clean and dry.

Devinci Hatchet PRO, UDH

The Hatchet PRO frame has an integrated seat clamp, and it accepts 27.2mm seat posts… including dropper posts! The frame uses a UDH derailleur hanger, and is compatible with SRAM Full Mount derailleurs.

The bottom bracket is a 386 EVO press-fit type, and the Hatchet PRO frame has enough clearance for 700x45mm tires. The top tube includes a bento box mount for frame bags.

Devinci Hatchet PRO, front derailleur

The Hatchet PRO also comes with a cover for the front derailleur mount. Those who prefer 1x setups can ditch the front mech and cap off the mounting area neatly.

Geometry:

The new Hatchet PRO offers updated geometry – Devinci gave the bike a steeper head angle, and shorter chainstays for a more aggressive ride plus more ‘all-road’ capability.

Devinci Hatchet Vista:

A more affordable model built with entry and mid-level components, the Hatchet Vista is ideal for those starting into gravel riding or for light bikepacking trips. Devinci aimed to keep the price tag within reason so buyers could have money left over for accessories like bags, racks, etc.

The new Hatchet Vista is built around an updated Optimum R03 6061-T6 aluminum frame. The frame features hydro-formed, triple-reinforced tubing to offer light weight, durability, comfort, and efficient power transfer. Its revised geometry prioritizes comfort for long rides, and the frame’s aesthetics have been updated. The Hatchet Vistas come with Devinci’s full carbon OSC fork.

Devinci Hatchet Vista, routing

The Hatchet Vista’s frame gets internal cable routing, but not through the headset: The Vista sticks with more traditional routing from the head tube to the chainstays. The frame also includes routing for a dropper post cable.

The frame has ample clearance for 700x45mm tires, runs a UDH derailleur hanger compatible with Full Mount derailleurs, and uses a T47 threaded bottom bracket.

To haul your cargo there are four accessory mounts on the frame, plus two more on the fork. The frame and fork also include sleek internal fender mounts. Furthermore, the frame has integrated rear rack mounts and the fork has three mounting points so it can carry side cages.

All frame sizes of the Hatchet Vista can carry three water bottles – Two in the front triangle and one on the underside of the down tube.

Geometry:

Devinci revised the geometry of the Hatchet Vista to emphasize ride comfort for long, exploratory adventures.

Devinci E-Hatchet Tour:

Those looking for a little pedal-assisted adventure will be keen on the E-Hatchet Tour. Whether to take you further or make you faster, the E-Hatchet Tour offers what Devinci calls ‘the right amount of electric assistance’.

The E-Hatchet Tour is built on an Optimum R03 6061-T6 aluminum frame, which features triple-reinforced, hydroformed tubing like the Vista models above. Up front is a full-carbon OSC fork.

The frame provides internal cable routing (not through the headset), has clearance for 700x45mm tires, and employs a T47 threaded bottom bracket. This model can accommodate a dropper post but does not have UDH-compatible dropouts.

Devinci E-Hatchet Tour, w bottles

There are four accessory mounts on the E-Hatchet frame, and two more on the fork that allow for side cage compatibility. The frame also includes internal front and rear fender mounts, plus rear rack mounts on the dropouts. All frame sizes can carry two water bottles inside the front triangle.

Drive System:

Devinci E-Hatchet Tour, hub motor

The E-Hatchet Tour is driven by a Mahle X30 rear hub motor, which provides 45Nm of torque. Power is supplied by a Mahle iX2 237Wh battery neatly hidden in the downtube.

With the stock battery alone, the bike’s listed range is up to 90km (56 miles). However, if that’s not enough you can add Mahle’s eX1 range extender, which offers an extra 171Wh of capacity and approximately 55km (34 miles) more range.

Devinci E-Hatchet Tour, button and app

On the E-Hatchet’s top tube, you’ll find Mahle’s HMI control button. This one-button unit acts as the bike’s power switch but also allows you to toggle between assist levels and check your battery life.

The E-Hatchet Tour connects to Mahle’s MySmartBike app, allowing riders to customize motor settings, track their ride data, sync with Strava, update software, and more.

Geometry:

Devinci says the E-Hatchet Tour was inspired by all-road DNA. Its geometry is designed to offer a comfortable ride position.
