The new 3T Accelero disc brake road wheelset takes the aero shape of the original but gets a new extrusion that’s disc specific. They said they could take out a lot of weight to offset grams gained in the hub and spokes, and they did a good job of just that. It’s only about 15g heavier than the rim brake model.
Available in the alloy Pro level at first. It’s tubeless ready with a 23mm outside width. Wheelset weight 1735g. Lacing is 2x, 24 spokes front and rear. Ready in late November.
Vola Pro aero bar is a new entry level alloy set up that’s given a very curvy hydroformed base bar and extensions.
It’s sold as a system with 10 and 20 millimeter spacers. The clip on extensions will fit any of their handlebars, and they’re available separately, too. They use their wrist saver design and can be upgraded to carbon fiber versions.
The shaping provides multiple ergonomic hand positions and is much prettier than a standard bent bullhorn. Available end of November, retail should be about $320-ish. Weight is about 760g all in.
The aero shape of the top section was copied on their new Aerotundo (top) and Aeronova. The Aerotundo has a rounder classic drop profile, the Aeronova is a shorter, shallower reach.
The flats fall off as they approach the bend, then the tubes are raised to provide a better grip position at the corners. Coming in Pro version in November, carbon ones in December.
