The wave of eBikes in Europe has given rise to eBike-specific products of nearly everything imaginable, so why not hydration packs too? Ergon was one of a handful of bag makers that introduced a new backpack at Eurobike specifically for eBikes. What does that mean? It’s all about a special compartment inside the E Protect line that is designed to carry a spare battery so you can extend your range…

However, the new bags aren’t just all about eBikes – each is available in a non-E version as well. The new BA2 /BA2 E Protect and BA3/BA3 E Protect bags are a 10 and 15-17 liter bag designed for All Mountain use with an included BP100 Impact Protector. The E Protect models include an extra compartment to keep your spare eBike battery safe and in one spot, with the weight centered low on your back.

The BA2 includes a rearward facing GoPro mount, but both bags are also compatible with the new Chest Mount which attaches to any 2018 ERgon bag with the 4 point elastic clip.

Ergon was also sowing a new line of women’s saddles for both road and mountain use. The SR Women stands for Saddle Road, and it will be available in a Sport Gel or Pro model. The Sport Gel ($89.95) includes gel padding, CroMo rails, Orthopedic comfort foam, and two sizes (9-12cm, and 12-16cm), and in black or berry with matching bar tape. The Pro model ($129.95) is the same used by Canyon//SRAM racing and offers Orthocell comfort padding, Tinox rials, and the same two sizes.

The Saddle Mountain (SM) on the other hand will come in the SM Pro Women ($89.95), and the SM Sport Gel Women ($69.95).

Ergon’s line of ergonomic grips continues to improve with the new GA2 fat which is, well, a fatter version of the GA2. Carrying the same $29.95 price tag as the GA2, they are available in one size and three colors – black, red, and blue.

The GA3 offers a mini-wing version of the GA2 for a bit more support, but not as much as their full winged grips. Sold in one size for $29.95, the grips will come in the five colors shown above.

The GE1 also gets an update with the new GE1 EVO Factory and Factory Slim. Both grips have softer rubber with more cutouts for improved grip in the standard or slimmer profile.

I really like(d) the Ergon gloves but was disappointed they decided to not bring them back to the U.S. (not sure about Canada). Maybe the packs will return too? nice sized options… 🙁

I was going to say the same thing about their gloves. Loved the pair I had, was disappointed to see them unavailable in the US.

The GA3 looks great. Just what I was waiting for. Halfway between the GA2 and GS1. Inboard lock ring and better grip. No bolt head under the fleshy part of your palm like the GS1. Perfect.

Except it won’t work with my Pinion twist shifter. Oh well.

Intriqued that the women’s saddles get cut-outs yet their men’s offerings don’t? I think Ergon products are great but I won’t be riding one of their perches until they add a cut-out.
