Prologo debuted their Dimension saddle line last fall, then added an enduro-oriented NDR model and a wider Space size earlier this year. Now, they’ve added two CPC versions, one for road and one for mountain bikes. Check those posts for full details on the Dimension concept, but basically the idea is to blend the fit and performance of all their other saddles into a modern, short-nose design that works for the vast majority of riders.
The CPC versions take their F1-inspired vibration damping material and add it to the cover.
Prices start at €99 for the CPC versions with chromoly rails, €259 with Nack carbon rails (159g to 169g), and €159 with TiRox (189g to 198g). They measure 245×143.
More and more component brands are answering the growth of e-Bikes with parts made specifically for electric assist bicycles. Prologo’s first entry is this eMTB saddle, coming in under the new Proxim banner, and this W650 saddle.
Why a special saddle for e-Bikes, you ask? There are a few good reasons they need to be different. The biggest is that the bikes are heavier, so if you do wreck, the saddle needs to be able to handle that load when it smashes into the ground. So, Prologo reinforced the shell, then added a handle to the rear to make it easier to lift the bike for storage, repair, etc.
The shell was also designed to handle a new multi-sector foam design, which puts different foams in different places to move with you as you pedal. The wings of the shell also flex with you, and the tip of the nose has a bit of flex, too. Lastly, the center channel relieves pressure, which is good because e-bike riders tend to stay seated more than analog riders.
