elite corsa italia biodegradable water bottle with italian themed graphics to celebrate italy's 150th birthdayPRESS RELEASE: Thursday, 17 March, Italy celebrates 150 years of unity, and to mark this important milestone Elite has come up with Italia Corsa, a 100% biodegradable water bottle with enhanced graphics of the Italian flag on its 150th birthday. Elite has chosen the Corsa model to produce this special-edition water bottle, the same water bottle used during races by Elite – sponsored teams in the 2011 season.

This sincere tribute to the Italian colours really means a lot. Elite is an Italian company with headquarters in Fontaniva (PD), in the Veneto region, and it has always been a leading exporter of the charm and practicality associated with the made in Italy label around the world.

The Corsa Italia conforms to UCI guidelines. In fact, it has two types of openings, a screw top or pull top. This means that the top screws on like a normal water bottle, but if it accidentally falls to the ground and gets hit by a bike wheel, there’s a safety valve that lets the liquid out, and the rider can keep riding without fall. The valve is made from thermo-plastic rubber and the bottle itself has a low density which makes it “squeezable”, simplifying grip and irrigation. Like all Elite water bottles, the Corsa Italia is BPA free, without traces of Bisphenyl A, which is harmful to health.

What is this bottle diameter ? I have some elite carbon cages from 2003 that are a slightly narrower diameter than most others now. Thanks.
