A heads up here for those who’ve been waiting for Empire, the NYC-based fixed-gear film to drop. It’s topping off proceedings on Sunday night at the 10th annual Bicycle Film Festival in New York.
The first showing – the world premiere – is sold out, the second session almost so, so you need to book your tickets quick if you want to see it on its home city debut.
Big congratulations to Luke and Chris who’ve worked so hard on the film, which apparently features both insane street riding and a snapshot of the evolving tricks scene that blossomed during the film’s (lengthy) gestation. Take a peek here for a sneaky preview.
Huge congratulations, too, to Brendt Barbur and everyone involved in the BFF, which is now an institution in 15 or so cities globally. Ten years is a huge milestone.

Tonight at the BFF, for BMX fans: The Birth of Big Air, about how Matt Hoffman revolutionized BMX riding.
