Endura has been producing clothing for women in their trail and road lines for quite a while, but with the recent launch of their new FS260-Pro SL bib shorts for women they are making a move to commit more heavily to delivering top-level performance for female roadies as well. The same bibs have been a key part of their pro men’s line, raced at the top of the sport by Movistar over the last year, and now women can get that same pro-level of performance. The development works in part as Endura have committed to supporting Women’s WorldTour pro team Cervélo Bigla for 2016, who’ve been racing in the new bibs since the start of the season. Get more detail on the new bibs and some accompanying kit after the break, plus updates with pricing…
It actually isn’t something that happens all the time in the women’s peloton, so Cervélo Bigla is pretty thrilled that they are getting as much attention and technical innovation and support from Endura as they give to Movistar.
The new £100/140€/$180 women’s FS260-Pro SL Bibshorts are made with Italian-made, coldblack-treated Power Lycra in a women-specific cut and a light mesh bib. They use a simple raw edge hem with fine silicone grippers. The women’s bibs use what Endura calls a Drop-Seat (DS) zipped construction that allows for a race fit with the ability to remove them for bathroom breaks without having to pull off a jersey or jacket.
And at the heart of the new Pro SL bibs is a premium 700 series chamois pad available in three widths to perfectly fit all riders no matter their sit bone width. While riders can figure out their ideal chamois size based on their existing saddle of choice at Endura’s website, they also have a fit system through select dealers to get each woman on the right chamois for all day comfort. Endura is so confident in the choice that they are backing the new bibs up with a no questions asked 90 day comfort guarantee.
Endura suggests pairing the new Pro SL bibs with their new £50/70€/$95 Women’s FS260-Pro II Jersey, which uses a fast wicking knit and gets mesh panels both to breath and to offer a flattering look. Then since fighting the weather is one of the Scottish brand’s big selling points, add on a £65/90€/$110 woman’s FS260-Pro Adrenaline Race Cape for light protection that packs down to the size of an apple. The ultra light jacket is totally waterproof with fully-sealed seams, and yet claims to remain breathable. It gets a long drop tail and is transparent (in either white or clear-pink) to let either your race number or your style shine through.
