The Factor ALUTO is the brand’s newest gravel machine, purpose-built for the sharp end of racing. Unlike the OSTRO Gravel, which blends aero road speed with gravel versatility, the ALUTO doesn’t straddle two worlds. It’s unapologetically a gravel race bike, designed from the ground up to deliver stability, stiffness, and speed when the race turns long, fast, and unpredictable.

Factor shaped the ALUTO to meet the demands of modern gravel racing, where courses can swing from high-speed tarmac sprints to loose, technical descents in the same mile. With geometry tuned for control, a carbon layup aimed at efficiency, and aero influences carried over from Factor’s WorldTour road bikes, the ALUTO gives racers a dedicated platform for events that are demanding on the rider and machine.

ALTUO Frame Shaping & Design
The ALUTO’s frame is immediately recognizable as a Factor, but with subtle differences that signal its off-road purpose. The downtube and headtube carry aerodynamic shaping borrowed from Factor’s road machines, while the top tube and seat stays slim down for weight savings and vibration control.
As far as looks go, the ALTUO appeals to me. It looks more like a cyclocross/gravel bike than the OSTRO gravel. The tubes are aerodynamic but not so much to take away from the frame’s natural elegance. The round(er) tubes I imagine give the bike a nice ride quality over bumps and uneven roads, but also look nice in juxtaposition with the super wide gravel tires.

The rear triangle is compact, keeping the chainstays short to maximize snap and acceleration out of corners, while the front center is stretched slightly to create a stable, planted feel at high speed. Combined with a bit more trail in the front end, the geometry is tuned for confident handling on loose gravel while maintaining the sharp responsiveness Factor is known for.
Factor also influenced the design of the fork crown and seat cluster to ensure adequate tire clearance and effective mud shedding. The seat post is a round traditional design, unlike many of the proprietary designs we see from Factor.

Factor ALUTO Geometry
While Factor hasn’t abandoned aero principles, the ALUTO’s numbers are tuned for gravel race duty. Compared to the Ostro Gravel, the headtube angle is slightly steeper, the reach is longer, and the bottom bracket drop is marginally deeper for stability. The goal was to keep the bike lively under power while giving riders the confidence to dive into technical descents and sketchy corners.

Factor tuned the ALUTO around 45 mm race rubber, with clearance pushing to 47 mm in the rear and a roomy 52 mm up front. It’s a setup that balances speed with versatility, giving racers the option to run fast 40s or go wider when the course calls for extra bite. The geometry mirrors much of the sharp precision of the OSTRO Gravel but adds a touch more balance for all-day comfort. The result is handling that stays light and lively when you’re on the gas, yet stable enough to keep confidence high when fatigue sets in hours later
