The coverage of the 2026 Sea Otter Classic continues with the RakAttach XL from 1UP USA. I was strolling by the booth and caught a glimpse of the new, larger swing’s unique Support Jack doing its job holding the loaded rack, so I stopped by to see what’s up.
The RakAttach XL is the brand’s solution to the original RakAttach issue, where some trucks are unable to open the tailgate fully in certain instances. So, the Rak Attach XL is wider and more robust. It can hold up to 375lbs, which is a whopping 100lbs more than the regular RakAttach.
Because it’s wider and can hold more weight, the Rak Attach XL comes with a Support Jack that looks easy enough to deploy when needed. The swing can pivot up to 90 degrees to either the driver or passenger side. Providing completely unobstructed access to the back of your vehicle.
The Support Jack stows above the swing adapter, and then must be removed from storage and attached to the end of the adapter in order to use. It has a pin-based height adjust system with an adjustment knob to dial in the last bit for a supportive lift that prevents the adapter from sagging under a full load.
Designed to be used with a 2″ receiver only, the RakAttach XL uses the same bombproof wedge-style, anti-wobble system that’s used on all 1UP USA racks.
32″ Wheel Adaptors
1UP USA was also showing off their new, completely modular 32″ wheel adaptors. They look simple to use, and a good solution to convert any existing 1UP rack to take the 32″ bike you’ll, more than likely, be getting in the next year. The new adaptors look like a taller version of the brand’s Quik Slide, but are compatible with more of the brand’s racks.
They didn’t provide a cost on them, and they aren’t on the site yet. But I would imagine they will be priced similarly to the Quik Slide, around $52 to $64.
