Combining the best attributes of both their road and mountain tires, Michelin is throwing their Bib into the world of gravel. Adding to their line of Power road models, the newest tire is called, well, the Power Gravel.

Available in a few weeks, we’re told that Michelin will be starting out with 700c tires in 33, 35, and 40mm widths. Tubeless ready, the tires have claimed weights of 360, 380, and 450g respectively and all have the same directional triangular tread pattern with aggressive cornering lugs on the sides. All three will run $64.99.

A bit farther out, Michelin is about to release their new Wild Enduro tire system which has been well proven on the pro Enduro circuit.

Featuring a front and rear specific tread pattern, only the front tire was on hand at Frostbike. Both tires will be available in 27.5 x 2.4″ only and in GumX compound (the front will also be available in Magi-X race day compound). Look for more details on the Wild Enduro soon.

Any idea if the Power Gravel tires are tubeless-ready?

I’m more bummed that they aren’t on QBP’s site yet. I thought they had an embargo on any products that dealers couldn’t order yet?

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out. They look interesting. Wonder how tough the case is.

My thoughts exactly. These look really awesome, and I’d buy a set today if I could. I’m inclined to think that, at 360g, the sidewall can’t be super thick, considering that’s lighter than several slicks in that size. However, Michelin has been putting out some really great tires lately that look pretty darn great on paper.

If the grafvel tire is resembling their proven and superfast XC tire Wild Racer Ultimate i asume if could be a worthy oponent to Pannaracer Gravelking SK’s

Been using the Bontrager LT2 TLRs for a while, which have an *extremely* similar tread pattern. In typical Bontrager fashion, they don’t leak, and have competitive price and weight. (Claimed 475g at 700×38) at roughly 100 kilos, I can run 40psi front, 45psi rear and have only occasional rim strikes on pretty aggressive single track.
