Fizik has introduced its lightest short-nose saddle yet, designed for the aggressive, aero riding position you’ll want to adopt for competitive road racing. The claimed weight? A svelte 134g for the 140mm width version. The full carbon fiber shell and one-piece rail are to thank for the lightweight design. Here’s everything you need to know.
Fizik Vento Argo 00
Fizik has designed the Vento Argo 00 to complement road race bikes with aggressive geometries. The dropped, short-nose design with its ergonomic cut-out section is said to help riders get a better riding posture as the dropped nose supports the pubic ramus when the pelvis rotates forward to add power or to get more aero. That could mean transitioning to a more aggressive position, or even moving from seated to standing for explosive efforts, or adopting a more forward, aerodynamic position for descending.
Available in 140mm width and 150mm width options, the Vento Argo 00 is 265mm long. At 75mm wide, the saddle has a length of 114mm to the nose. It features an ergonomic cut-out to ease pressure in the perineal area, developed using detailed pressure analysis and input from medical experts.
The 10mm x 7mm rails, or rail to be exact, is of a unique one-piece design; Fizik call it the Mobeus rail. It is composed of a very stiff high-modulus carbon-fiber optimized for maximum power transfer.
