Everyone has heard about the Great Outdoors. But what about the Great Nearby? You know, that refuge from the modern life that’s just outside of town? Specialized and Fjällräven both think you should get out and explore the Great Nearby more often. So they teamed up to bring you an all-new collection of clothing and gear to both ride and explore.

Playfully referring to the Caliswede, this project is an exchange of ideas between California’s Specialized and Sweden’s legendary Fjällräven brand. During today’s launch, Specialized was quick to point out that this is more than just a collaboration. Instead, they call it an “exchange. The exchange of knowledge between the two brands to form a long term bond.”

The goal of that exchange? Making it easier for more people to reconnect with nature. Basically, it seems like Specialized and Fjällräven are really leaning into the concept of the sub-24hr adventure–and making it easier to accomplish. Want the healing powers of nature? You don’t have to plan for months and travel to a far-off destination. Just load up your bike, pedal out of town, and set up camp.

While none of the products have been officially released yet, you can get an idea of what’s in store from the photos above. Casual clothing that works both on the bike and on foot on your favorite hiking trails. Bags and gear to make transporting the essentials to camp easier than ever. All with style that doesn’t scream ‘cyclist.’
