North Shore Billet has just unveiled their new Direct Mount Stem Spacers, allowing downhillers to fine tune their front end’s height without having to swap stems or bars.
The risers come in 3mm, 4mm and 6mm heights for $19 each or a race pack with all three, allowing you to mix and match to get up to 10mm of additional rise. Both sets include longer hardware, and they’re designed to work with the current (2009+) Rockshox Boxxer 4-bolt mounting pattern. That includes the Fox 40 and 2012 Marzocchi 888.
Why add spacers, and why these? On steeper courses, it keeps you from being too far forward over the bike. These allow easy height adjustment without having to remove the top crown of the fork to add standard steerer tube spacers. Available January 2012. More pics after the break…
This shows the 3mm spacer, the 6mm size is at the top of the post.
Weights are 8g to 15g depending on size. They’ll be available in black, red and pewter anodized colors, which’ll match up perfectly with those new K-Edge Go Big GoPro mounts.
