  • Arthritis fundraiser California Coast Classic tour gets a reroute for September – Since 2001, the Arthritis Foundation has held the California Coast Classic Bike Tour, an eight-day fundraising ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Capped at 250 riders, the event ranks among America’s top “bucket list” rides, thanks to a premier course, top-notch support, epic scenery, and the camaraderie of the relatively small group. For the 1st time the CCC will deviate from its course a bit due to the removal of Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge in Big Sur after landslide damage. The ride takes place Sept 9-16, with registration currently open and some spots remaining. even with a new route, the goal is the same: raise more than a million dollars so that Arthritis Foundation can champion the fight against arthritis, America’s leading cause of disability. CaliforniaCoastClassic.org

With vintage bikes and plenty of classic wool clothing, cyclists will continue to honor cycling’s classics on Austrias’s own white roads and Kellergassen wine cellar alleys in the Weinviertel region. New route options this year include the 70km Delightful, the 140km Challenging, and the 210km Epic. Registration remains open until May 31. InVeloVeritas.at
  • Test out e-bikes this weekend in Munich from today through Sunday – Munich has E-Bike Days this weekend at the Olympiapark in the city center. More than 25 of the biggest names in e-bikes will be there with free test rides on three different courses with eMTB, commuters & even cargo bikes. If you’re close to Bavaria and have been contemplating whether a pedal-assist bike makes sense for you zip on over to hit the Uphill Flow test track, the urban course, and a high-speed S-Pedelec track. eBikeDays.de

  • The Out of Bounds Festival returns to Saalfelden Leogang June 8-11 – It’s the only event in the world where the world’s elite downhill racers and the stars of the slopestyle scene perform side by side on the same weekend as the UCI Mountain Bike DH World Cup and FMB World Tour Gold event 26TRIX converge in the Austrian Alps. Thousands of spectators roll in each year to watch pro riders compete. It all goes down in a small mountain town where there’s always plenty of side-events, parties and other entertainment to be seen; plus plenty of places to ride just away from the DH track. We’ll be there. Bike.Saalfelden-Leogang.com

  • Ride the Granfondo Stelvio June 11 with free coaching & fueling advice – To see if they can improve riders’ performance & enjoyment at the gran fondo, one of Italy’s leading banks (Banca Mediolanum) is putting together a stand at the popular event, so that any of the 3000 participants can get a free consultation with a personal trainer or nutritionist over the weekend of the ride. Just drop by the expo in the start town of Bormio, and they’ll be dishing out free technical advice to boost your race performance on the way up the Stelvio Pass.
In other Stelvio new, the organizers of the event are raising funds for the IoNonCrollo project in Camerino after the Granfondo Terre dei Varano was postponed for this year due to the destruction caused by last October’s earthquake. The cycling event will donate 1 euro for each of its own participants. GranfondoStelvioSantini.com
