Win Mitch’s ti Mosaic CXer benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project (NOW!)– What about that custom titanium Mosaic XT-1 cyclocross bike you say? In fact, you have ONLY until midnight tonight to buy your tickets. US Nationals are this weekend and Mosaic is selling raffle tickets for $10 a pop. And you won’t just win some used bike like we originally thought, but a custom sized Mosaic XT-1 either in the WWP paint scheme or any other stock Mosaic paint job you prefer. Advocacy & Industry News

  • Berlin Bike Show cancelled for 2019 – Slipping out just past the wire at the end of last week (after we already heard that Interbike 2019 has been cancelled), the popular international urban cycling show in Berlin has been called off for 2019 too. It was going to be the 10th anniversary of the Berliner Fahrradschau, but it seems market conditions have been hard for industry & consumer cycling shows alike. (BFS is not to be confused with VeloBerlin, a separate show run by Eurobike’s organizers, which will still be held next April.) A bit more Berliner Fahrradschau information (but not much) on their Facebook.

And the kitchen sink goes where?

You’re not going to want to carry the kitchen sink with only a 34/32 low gear.

You’ll probably only carry some of the bags or change the gearing. Word on the street is that you can fit up to a 40t cog on the back with the 105GS derailleur. Otherwise you’ll need to change the crankset before you want to carry all the bags. Depending, of course, on your route, load, strength, etc.

I don’t mean to be overly negative about a company that’s selling some neat bikes at reasonable prices, but when you read about a “UK built-to-order Reynolds 725 steel (…) bike”, it’s clear that they’re drawing on the cachet of local custom builders and implying that the frame is built in the UK. There are many great frames coming out of Taiwanese production – many of the best – but honest brands shouldn’t hide their origins. Cjell Monē had a great article a while back about doing some production in Taiwan.
