Whether you’re snapping into a Slim Jim, or just your local cross race, All City’s aggressive cross geometry is now packaged into a geared disc version for whatever trails, roads, or cross races you get yourself into. Built from their 612 Select Cromoly steel with a mix of TIG and brazed pats, the Macho Man Disc is a simple, disc equipped durable bike – all at a very reasonable $1795 for the complete Shimano 105 equipped bike.

Built with a straight 1 1/8th head tube, the Macho Man kicks it old school, with standards like the threaded bottom bracket that work – and help keep the price down. The fork features tapered, double butted legs with a lugged crown and plenty of clearance. The only think missing from this bike that the production version will have are the front fender mounts – the production bike will be completely fender ready. A Salsa Pro Moto stem and 31.8 Salsa Cowbell 3 bar give you a place to put your hands.
The front derailleur cable is routed internally through the top tube, and meets up with a Shimano CX-70 Top pull front derailleur.
The rear derailleur and rear brake cable are both protected in continuous strands of housing that traverse the bottom of the down tube and are affixed to the frame via custom cable guides.
The 135mm rear dropouts are also custom investment cast stainless units which build in the rear disc tab and the fender mounts into their vertical dropouts. As you can see the chain stay is lugged and the seat stay is tigged. As with other All City frames, the Macho Man Disc is ED coated for exceptional durability and rust proofing.
As mentioned, a 68mm English threaded bb holds an FSA Gossamer 46/36 crank in place, and has the All City Logo stamped in it to remind you what you’re riding.
Stopping duties are given to Hayes CX-5 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors attached to a custom wheelset with Shimano SLX 32 spoke hubs mated to Alex Black Dragon disc rims. 35mm Kenda Small Block 8s provide fast rolling tires that will still grip whether you’re down an alley or on a cross course. It’s not very big in this picture, but that is a barrel adjuster built into the cable stop above the front derailleur – a nice touch to get rid of the in-line adjusters that just aren’t as good. The frame is also built with a pulley mount for bottom pull front derailleurs should you be so inclined. Tire clearance for the bike is said to be 700×38, or 35s with fenders. As reported while the completes will retail for $1795, you will also be able to pick up a frameset for $625. Don’t want discs?
