In a more-than-slight nod to the epic Transition Rapture CX announcement, Adam Craig returns on behalf of his sponsor, Giant, to show how well-suited his limited edition TCX SLR SS is to roosting, getting wasted, and all the other traits required for SSCXWC14KY dominance. Check out complete specs and the video after the jump.

The TCX SLR SS is currently available as a frameset-only for $1,300 featuring the same ALUXX SLR disc frame as the geared versions of the TCX SLR: internal cable routing, BB86 pressfit shell, a Giant D-Fuse SL composite seatpost, and a full carbon fork with Giant’s proprietary OverDrive 2 steerer and 15mm DT Swiss thru-axle. Interestingly, the frame features a 9mm QR SingleSwing dropout quite similar to the Transition, offering 15mm of chain adjustment with parallel disc caliber movement, perhaps making this the easiest setup on the market for switching out cogs. Unlike the steel Transition, Giant does not indicate the availability of other dropouts for the TCX SLR SS frameset to convert back to geared riding.

More to the point, after Craig’s Transition film portraying his superior ability to coach aspiring SSCX racers, we now get a clear look at the beer-sodden training regimen that launched him to two SSCXWC titles. Giant cautions: “Always drink responsibly, even when training for SSCXWC.”

Awesome freaking video. It is true that the headbadge is the single most important upgrade you can make to a SS bike. It’s nice that Giant went with something high end to start with. Saves me from having to upgrade down the road.

Nothing against Giant, but this is the first bike of theirs that I find exciting. Also, I want to drink with Adam Craig. That guys seems to get it.

I just got mine in. Its sweet, a proper SS bike. Regarding the option of a non-ss drop out, they could make a different hanger, but the frame doesn’t have routing for anything but internal brakes. You’re committed. But who buys a single speed disc cross frame for $1300 wondering if they might want gears?

I love Giant bikes, but they put out a kick as product like this and only make about 11 (exaggerating) them. If you don’t have one already, you won’t get one. They are sold out already!

Fantastic frame, fantastic video! I’ve been an Adam Craig fan since he road SS at the Wyndham WC XCO race. That video almost erases Giants “your’e gonna buy a 650b mtb ’cause we said so” launch. Almost…

@Ryan same with the geared version

Last year they released the TCX Advanced SLR when the season was already running. I planned to sell my current CX bike once the season was over and buy a TCX Advanced 1. Problem is there was no bike available anymore according to the importer. When I asked when the 2015 version would be released, I was told late october / early november. Just in the middle of a racing season.

In the end I sold my CX bike but will probably buy something else.
