Giving Tuesday Roundup: Silca, Pearl Izumi, Specialized, WBR, CAF, more

With all of the hype around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s easy to lose sight of what the true holiday spirit is all about. But since 2012, Giving Tuesday has helped balance out the universe with an international day of charitable giving. This year, a number of bicycle companies are taking part – far more than listed here!

Silca #Pumps4Programs

With any purchase from Silca today, they will donate a percentage of the proceeds or a full pump to the bike community organization of your choice.

  • Purchases between $0-$100: Silca will donate 10% of the proceeds from your order to the to the bike community organization of your choice.
  • Purchases between $100-$200: Silca will donate 20% of the proceeds from your order to the bike community organization of your choice.
  • Purchases over $200: Silca will donate a Pista Floor Pump ($99 MSRP) to the bike community organization of their choice.

Pearl Izumi

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, Pearl Izumi has added a drop down donation menu to their ordering page. You can choose to support People for Bikes, the Amy D. Foundation, Trips for Kids, IMBA, IRACELIKEAGIRL, or the Davis Phinney Foundation along with your purchase.

World Bicycle Relief

To continue their mission of delivering bicycles to help students in rural Africa get to school, WBR is aiming to fund 1,500 bikes this Tuesday. All Giving Tuesday donations will be matched 1:1 this year to help further the cause.

The Challenged Athlete Fund

As part of their “Goal of 25 + Give $25“, the Challenged Athlete Fund is raising money to help athletes of all sorts with the financial barriers of adaptive sports. This year they’re challenging individuals to set a goal of 25 reps of some form of excercise in honor of their 25th anniversary. That, and a $25 donation which will be matched by a CAF supporter. T

The Specialized Foundation

Want to help kids #OutrideADHD? The Specialized Foundation is continuing their support of cycling and exercise based school programs to get more kids off medication and onto bikes.

Yakima x Rumpl

Yakima and Rumply recently announced their collaborative puffy blanket with Stickfort, and they’re donating a portion of all sales to Friends of the Columbia River Gorge to help restore the area after the massive fire in 2017.

Your local bicycle organization

Want to make sure your donation hits close to home? Why not send it to your favorite local bicycle organization or non-profit? Whether getting more people on bikes, helping the less fortunate, providing infrastructure for commuting and riding, or your favorite trail builders, it’s a good day to pay it forward!
