Back in November, Gore announced that it was shutting down its GOREWEAR cycling and running apparel business after 40 years. At that time, the brand announced that it would continue to fulfill orders until March 31, 2026. That date is fast approaching, and GOREWEAR just announced its Last Lap & Final Mile sale, with up to 70% off sitewide, including discounts on brand-new spring 2026 styles.
We’ve reported on many brands shutting down, restructuring, or facing other financial difficulties in the past couple of years, and GOREWEAR’s upcoming closure adds to the growing list of brands impacted by economic factors. When contacted for comment, Molly Cuffe, Communications & External Affairs Leader for W. L. Gore and Associates, confirmed the closure, saying, “Gore’s Fabrics business has made the difficult decision to close our GOREWEAR apparel cycling and running business after over 40 years of dedication and hard work. Despite our best efforts, we faced significant challenges that made it difficult to continue in a highly competitive landscape.”

We think it’s unfortunate to lose another longstanding brand in the cycling industry, especially one that has been producing excellent, and often very reasonably priced, road, gravel, and mountain bike apparel for many years. Right now, however, GOREWEAR’s unfortunate closure can be fortunate for you, as the brand sells off its remaining inventory before closing for good. Literally everything on the GOREWEAR site is on sale with discounts ranging from 25% to 70%. Not only are there lots of incredible deals right now, but the size and color selection still seem quite good.
We’ve been testing GOREWEAR products for years and have typically been quite impressed by the performance, quality, and value the brand has brought to the market. From bike touring trips around Japan, rainy rides in the forest in the Lupra Jacket, and cool shoulder season rides in the new Spinshift Windbreaker, GOREWEAR’s apparel has gotten the job done in comfort and style, without breaking the bank. Now, it’s even more affordable during the Last Lap & Final Mile sale. Seriously, the Spinshift Windbreaker is 50% off and selling for just $60, the Glidewheel Thermo Bib Tights are half price at $65, and they’ve got numerous jerseys at 70% off.

Interested in great deals on cycling apparel, but not sure you want to buy anything from a company that’s going out of business? What about the warranty? GOREWEAR tells us that they will still honor warranties after the March 31, 2026, closure.
We’re definitely sad to see GOREWEAR go, but we’re happy to see them go out with a bang and hook up cyclists with serious discounts on brand-new gear. Head to the Gorewear website to check it all out.
