Handsome Cycles shop bike

Handsome Cycles, purveyors of simple but elegant steel bicycles, have opened up will be opening in March a branded store inside connected to One on One Bicycles in Minneapolis, which will also serve as their HQ.

In addition to clothing and gear from Mission Workshop, Twin Six and One on One, the shop will have a “bike bar” that lets customers piece together their own bike one component at a time.

Most recently, Handsome introduced the Shop Bike (above), a simple coast brake cruiser for making coffee runs between repairs. Updated for 2013, it will have disc tabs on the fork, a gusseted head tube, and cable guide braze-ons on the down tube and chain stay for internal gearing. We’ve seen the original version in person locally and it’s about as nice a bike as you could want for such things. They’ve also introduced a (not yet available) high end coaster brake hub and some co-branded beauties with Twin Six.

A proper shop bike should have a rear rack and plastic milk crate zip-tied to it for beer runs.
