Elite racer & pro FCX Boulder cyclocross team manager Mitch Hoke returns to cross himself this season aboard a pair of customized Mosaic XT-1 titanium cyclocross machines. Finished with a unique design highlight his side gig helping to pilot C-130s in the Air National Guard, Hoke is working with his personal sponsors to bring awareness and raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Besides working with clothing maker Panache to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project earlier in the season, now Mitch is racing around the US elite circuit on these custom painted, titanium Mosaic XT-1 Cyclocross bikes. He’s using his time racing cross to raise awareness for the work the WWP does to support Veterans and Service Members who incurred physical or mental injury while serving in the military since September 11, 2001, as well as now opening a fundraising page to support the WWP directly.

One of the custom bikes by Mosaic will also be auctioned off at (or towards) the end of the race season with all proceeds going directly to the Wounded Warrior Project. We’ll make sure to update in our Friday Roundup when the auction goes live.

“Having a chance to give back and raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project is great. They do a lot of good for folks that have given so much to the United States,” says Mitch.

“I am really excited to get back to racing cross this season after a long break from the sport. I have been putting a good summer of training getting back up to speed. I have some amazing support with equipment and am very excited to get on a Mosaic. I have known Aaron for a long time and have always admired his bikes. The bikes that Mosaic built and Spectrum custom painted for me are beautiful and I can’t wait to show them off at the races.”

Perhaps there is something super-duper going on in the Mosaic bikes, but on the surface it looks like you could get a custom double-butted ti ride from Kish or Bingham Built and save yourself about $2000.

You conveniently left the fork and headset price out of the Kish comparison which would bring the price difference to under $1k. Bingham doesn’t list pricing but more than likely you could apply the same scenario. But I digress, Heffe. You are the King of price tag complaining, even if you’re not in the market. Good luck with that.

They look nice but way overpriced. If they use ‘mystique’ marketing to milk an extra couple grand from each frame, more power to em I guess.

Guys, guys, everything in the bike industry is insanely overpriced, from butyl tubes to $50 Giro helmets, to Mosaics and Speedvagens. Fortunately, just about any bike being brought to market these days is blast to ride, provided it’s built and maintained correctly. If you can’t afford it, don’t worry about it. If they’ve done the marketing and craftsmanship to garner that $, so be it.
