After launching some amazing looking alloy road bikes early this year, Sir Chris Hoy’s eponymous brand is launching a track bike for adults and youth, plus a fully geared kids road bike.

The Fiorenzuola track bike, above, uses a triple butted aluminum frame with carbon fork, SRAM Omnium crankset and Q-Lite/Alex wheels with Kenda tires. They’re clinchers, but the idea is to get on the track without blowing the budget, then upgrade as you get more into it. With a retail of just £750, it’ll get you started racing and carry you for a while. Or it’ll just make for a very fancy street fixie thanks to a drilling for front brakes.

If you’re sticking to the planks, you’ll be able to take junior along for the ride on the Meadowbank. Shown below, it’s a 650C version for youth about 8 years and older. It’s also sporting a carbon fork but gets 145mm cranks, short reach/drop bars and a bit lighter 44/16 gearing…

So what’s the story behind these bikes and the expansion of Hoy Bikes’ range? Check out Road.cc’s interview with the man himself and see what else is coming down the tube.

Christ they are horrendous. Like the ¥e Boardman bikes, they look like a cash in on a name. Which is exactly what they are. Can’t stand “Sir” Chris Hoy, a really nasty bloke, I know, I used to work closely with him. Two faced would be a good description. And he does not pay tax. A horrible man, a pox on his houses.

At least the kids will have something else to lust after instead of video games!
