Having tested them under Team RadioShack, Hutchinson has now released the new Atom Comp Clincher road tire for sale.

Hutchinson says it’s their lightest and fastest non-tubeless clincher road tire. Developed for high-performance road racing enthusiasts, the Atom Comp 700x 23c weighs in at only 185 grams, features a 127tpi casing with 100% polyamid anti-puncture reinforcement, and is available in an array of colors.

“The Atom Comp is completely new from the ground up,” states Dana Carson, GM of Hutchinson North America, “it’s super light, our engineers have been able to add polyamid flat protection from bead-to-bead, and we’re offering more color options than ever before. This is a true top-of-the-line tire for non-tubular wheels. The RadioShack team has been using the Atom Comps when they run clinchers, and have given “thumbs way up!” for the straight ahead speed and corner-grabbing characteristics of the Atom Comp.”

The Atom Comp retails for $60, and (according to the press release) is designed to dominate (their word, not ours) the Michelin Pro3 Race, Schwalbe Ultremo R, and other competitors in the high-end road market.
