Chrome’s fall clothing collection is led by their new Chrome Warm jacket and vest, and new bags cover the seasons through to spring and summer.
Above is just a sampling, with the Warm vest shown on the lower left and the new waxed canvas messenger bags top and center in autumn hues. The shorts were introduced earlier this year. Things get a bit brighter for spring, unless you’re going pro. Then it’s all big and black with a fanny pack…
The Warm work shirt and vest use a micro rip-stop nylon on both inner and outer surfaces and are completely reversible. The zipper flap and a rear yoke strip are reflective to enhance visibility at night. During the day, the bright orange solid side handles that just fine. Chrome’s so fond of these new additions they made a fancy video:
The quilted shape helps keep the synthetic poly-fill in place to insulate you. A wide rear zip pocket stashes the good stuff while riding and doubles as a stuff sack for the jacket, letting it serve as a pillow or just pack down really small. Retail is $150 (vest) and $180 (shirt).
Their Ike wind shirt isn’t brand new but we haven’t featured it. It has hidden wind blocking panels, two rear zip cargo pockets and zip sleeves to snug them to your wrist so wind can’t creep up your arms. The front has a double zip, so you can open a little from the bottom, too, to vent excess heat. $125.
Not shown, the De Haro windbreakder also gets the rear reflective strip across the shoulders, improved cuffs and altered vents to enhance mobility. Their popular merino wool Cobra hoodie gets a new “Rifle” army green color.
Waxed cotton canvas has long been a popular if simple weather resistant material for bags. Now, Chrome’s taken it a step further with these waxed polyester canvas bags that retain the water shedding nature but with better durability.
The material will be available on their Heritage Buckle Bags, Barrage Cargo Pack and Classic Messenger. Prices from $40 to $200. Not shown, they also scooped up a bunch of Dickies pants overruns and are weaving the material into Citizen Buckle Bags for $180.
The Seasonal Limited Urban EX 17 bags will get a few color options in the new maroon and olive bags. They’re a roll top closure and use the knurled welded waterproof construction. Retail is $120.
The Yalta also new colors called Yalta Brights, Assault Series. In addition to what’s shown here, look for Lime, Light Blue and Purple for $120.
The brand’s core goes back to messengers and for them, the new Pro level bits look awesome. The behemoth in the middle is the new Barrage Pro and it’s freakin’ massive. I don’t even need something that big, but I want it. It’s a limited run of just 400 with a $350 retail.
The new Pro waist bag (yes, it’s a “pro” fanny pack) gets some serious hardware:
The fireman’s buckle makes for quick on/off while looking boss, and a full Velcro adjustment strap with D-ring pull tab makes for quick adjustments. Both are available soon.
Much like their Knurled Welded pannier and rack bags they introduced last year, the new smaller ones are completely waterproof, even when submerged. That’s thanks to a 600-denier, polyurethane-coated polyester with welded seams. All feature a roll closure that’s buckled from the side and 3M reflective graphics. Choose from the handlebar bag ($60) or two different size saddle bags. The Seat Bag Race is about the size of a traditional if large saddle bag ($30). The Seat Bag Gravel is much larger and protrudes from the seat a ways to carry more cargo ($40).
Last year they started with the forged rubber soles on their shoes. Now they’ve added “camo” soles with chunks of colored rubber in them. Each one’s unique, but the construction is the same. Available on the Peshka high top ($110) and Ishak low top ($85).
