Kali has just dropped the bottom out of the road helmet market with the Ropa, a sleek, well ventilated and lightweight helmet that, at just $65, won’t require any additional protection for your wallet.
To bring the price down, it doesn’t get the dual density Cone Head construction of the higher end Phenom, but it’s still made with inmold construction to create a solid, one-piece structure. The single density foam is minimal without giving up safety ratings, and 24 well sized vents should help it move a lot of air over your head when it launches next spring. The silver reflective was even more impressive, and all of these were taken under tradeshow lights. We suspect real world results in the dark would be even better. The reflectivity is 360º, making you more visible from any angle. Even better, it’s all colored with an eco-friendly water based paint.

Often, big full coverage commuter helmets are heavy, but this one comes in at 279g, keeping it within spittin’ distance of modern road helmets. These ship in spring 2016, too.
