IB17: Rolf aluminum road rims get wider, Hyalite laces up SON Dynamo hub option

Along with pretty much every other rim manufacturer, Rolf’s aluminum road rim are getting wider. Pretty much across the board, if it’s aluminum and considered a road bike rim, that means it will now be running a 19mm internal width.

That includes both rim and disc brake models like the Vigor RS, Echelon, Elan Alpha, and Alspin. Many of those wheels also see improvements for 2018 with the upgrade to their T2 high engagement freehub system which offers a 48 tooth drive ring with three pawls.

Continuing their string of limited edition wheelsets, the Hyalite will be offered in Matte Silver for $1,249.

If you’re not into the silver, you can always pick and choose the perfect look with their custom program which offers custom decals, rims, and even hubs.

Not pictured, the Hyalite adventure wheelset also gains a custom build option to include the SONdelux dynamo front hub. Available in 12mm thru axle only, the hub adds generator capabilities to your stock wheelset for a $280 upcharge.
