Industry Nine just dropped some big news — they’ve officially acquired We Are One Composites. Yep, the Canadian composite masters out of Kamloops, BC are now part of the I9 family. This partnership was already brewing, with I9 offering complete wheelsets using We Are One’s composite rims for a while now, laced to their own Hydra and 1/1 hubs.
This acquisition solidifies what felt like a natural pairing. For Industry Nine, it’s a play to bring carbon rim production in-house, cutting down lead times, increasing control over the supply chain, and likely opening the door for even more integrated designs. For We Are One, it means greater resources and reach, all while keeping their Canadian manufacturing intact.
This seems like a win for riders who are looking for wheels completely made in North America, with top-level performance. Importantly, I9 mentions that operations will remain in both Asheville and Kamloops without any impact on existing product availability. The press release does mention that the Arrival frames will not be coming back into production. We Are One ceased production of these frames in 2024, and there are no plans to bring them back.
