Ok, I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here. But maybe we can have some fun with this. New York, New York’s Infinite Machine, a company that claims to make “the most compelling non-cars on earth,” releases what looks like a scooter. It’s called Olto, and they claim it’s a “bike lane vehicle.”

Like we cyclists don’t have enough to worry about while “surviving” in bike lanes. Infinite Machines claims that the Olto is “inspired by New York”. It looks like there may be two models, the Olto, which is the “bike lane” version, and the P1, which is the “car lane” version.

Today, we’ll just focus on the Olto.
Here, first watch the video.
The Olto is considered a Class 2 eBike that was specifically designed to be operated in bike lanes. They claim it has a top speed of 20mph “in bike lanes” and 33mph “off-road”.

Infinate Machine breaks down the Olto range like this: 41.6 mi at 12.4 mph; 34.8 mi at 18.6 mph; 28.0 mi at 24.9 mph; 22.4 mi at 31.1 mph. Additionally, they claim it can hold two passengers.

One of the more unique features of the Olto is the magnetic pedals for pedal-assist mode. If you just want to use the throttle, you can magnetically lock the pedals out of the way.

Infinite Machines states that the Olto combines automotive-grade performance with eBike practicality. It’s made of weatherproof, extruded aluminum, so it can be stored outside, according to Infinite Machine.

It sports dual suspension and a 750W rear hub motor, which is powerful enough to carry two people. The long seat, with under-saddle handles, as well as the hidden footpegs, make sure your passenger is both safe and comfy. Integrated, automatic high and low beam lights ensure nighttime safety. There are also integrated turn signals.

These numbers are a little bizarre to me. The Olto’s vehicle weight with the battery is a whopping 176 lbs. Without the battery, it weighs 154 lbs. It boasts a weight capacity of 352.7 lbs, and has a total “vehicle length” of 65.8″.
According to the brand, Olto’s UL-Certified battery is hot-swappable and slides in under the seat and can be installed in any direction. It can be removed with one hand and can be fast-charged to 50% in one hour.
Olto Security

Olto has some anti-theft features included via its Infinite Security Suite. The Olto is connected to the internet and tracked with GPS coordinates via the Infinite Machine App. Olto also includes an integrated Apple AirTag slot, making tracking your Olto easy wth the Apple Find My network.
When parking your Olto, it will automatically lock the steering and wheels to make it incredibly difficult to move. In the case that someone does try to tamper with your Olto, an alarm will sound, sending an instant notification to your phone.
You can also use your phone and the Infinite Machine app to connect and unlock your Olto when you walk up to it. It will also lock itself upon leaving the Olto. When using the app, you can view total and trip mileage, battery percentage, and tampering alerts. You can also see your current speed, remaining range, and location.
