INTERBIKE 2009Bell Helmets had a wide range of helmets, from downhill to XC to road to womens and kids, many featuring artwork from reknowned graphic artists Jimbo Philips (above) and Paul Frank.

Above, the Bell Drop DH helmet and Faction BMX/Skate helmet feature crossover graphics.  The blue zombie’s grabbing the skeleton’s neck and vice versa.  And the graphics continue the friendly rivalry under the visor (shown after the break).

Bell and Giro collaborated on a new kid’s helmet (with PF art) that features integrated blinky lights and fixed straps to make fitting the helmet super easy on antsy toddlers.  For performance riders, there are a few new models for road and mountain biking with sweet graphics and sharp looks.

The Faction retails for $40 and the Drop is $130, and it meets the new ASTM dowhnill safety standard.

New Paul Frank Faction helmets come in five graphic schemes for kids that don’t grow up, and the Fraction for kids that haven’t grown up.  Both are $40, and now you can match your kid while still having a helmet that fits your “adult” head.

Another angle so you can read the txt abrv on the (hopefully only for) girl’s helmet.

The new Bell One-Step kid’s helmets comes with fixed straps based on studies of hundreds of kids’ heads.  The elastic band in the rear mimics the new Roc Loc SL found on the $200 Giro Prolight helmet, and the non-adjustable junction of the straps makes fitting easy…all you have to do to be a good parent is make sure the chin strap is tight, and make sure you don’t catch their chin skin in the buckle as you tighten it.  They really don’t like that.  The helmets have integrated red blinky lights on either side, which is super cool…maybe they’ll that feature will trickle-up to adult commuter helmets!

The One-Step comes in “Flash” toddler (1-5 years, right) and “Dart” youth (5+, left) sizes with plenty of fun designs for boys and girls.

New for 2010 is the Lumen budget performance helmet.  At $65, it’s a good deal for a helmet ith 22 vents and Bell’s GPS fit system with a dial to, uh, dial in the rear retention mech.

The Lumen weighs 305g.

The Volt, one of Bell’s top of the line helmets with composite fiber sculpted air intake reinforcements, gets several new colors.  Not shown are the Team Saxo Bank and Skil Shimano replica helmets.  Above is a new gold/white patterned helmet that Bell said was designed to appeal to women because the patterning is a bit floral, but as you can see below, it’s basically just a cool looking helmet that plenty of dudes I know would likely wear.

Am I the only one who hates the Troy Lee/Jimbo Philips stuff?
