INTERBIKE 2009 – Per usual, Kona had a massive booth to display the 100+ bicycles in their lineup.  On the road and cyclocross side of things, they featured their new- and updated-for-2010 models: Grand Wagon, Band Wagon and Major One.
Featured above are the Band Wagon (front, blue) and Grand Wagon.  The Grand Wagon is their top-of-the-line touring-style road bike.  It’s got premium Dedacciai SAT bronze welded CrMo tubing that’s lugged together for a classy modern retro look.
More pics, info and pricing after the jump…
Flip flop rear hub lets you get your fixie on, and half out of view on the top of the pic is the pannier/rack mount bolt, so you can attach fenders and other cargo-related accessories as necessary.  Also, check the fancy Shimano chain!
The lugged frame adds a touch of class, and note the chromed fork crown (below), too.
The Grand Wagon is available in 49 / 52 / 54 / 56 / 60 cm frame sizes and it rolls on Mavic’s Track Ellipse wheelset.
The Band Wagon is a hopped up Paddy Wagon and spec’d just below the Grand Wagon.  Geometry is a mix of Track and Road for a general all around street performer.
The Band Wagon’s rear hub also flops over to become a fixed gear ride, and it has the same fender/rack mounts and fancy chain.
The Major One takes ‘cross and makes it even harder by getting rid of those silly gears.
Those sick puppies at Kona even tempt you with the ability to race this thing as a fixie, they just don’t include the cog…you gotta work for it.
Frame is Kona’s Race Light butted Scandium, and it’s spec’d with FSA Gossamer cranks, KMC chain, Formula hubs on Alex rims, Conti Speed King Cross tires (700 x 35), WTB Rocket V Comp seat and FSA Mega Exo bottom bracket.
We covered the full range of 2010 Kona bikes here and here if you want to see the entire line up, and we’ve post separately on their Mountain Bikes and Commuters from Interbike.
