ITM added some more affordable aluminum components to their line-up for 2016. The Alutech A line is a premium alloy road cockpit group with low-key graphics that all share a 7075 aluminum construction to provide a balance of comfort, safety, and value. For the mountain bike, the Ergal bar and stem slot in at the top of their aluminum offerings as well. They deliver weights near their carbon bars and lower than any of their trail stems, at a lower price point. Jump past the fold for a closer look, some tech details, and pricing…
The AL 7075 T6 Alutech A bar has a compact shape with 70mm reach and 125mm drop, and gets a nice detailed set of alignment marks for setup of both the stem clamp and levers. It will be available in 38, 40, 42 & 44cm widths, with a claimed weight of 260g (for the 42) for $76/69€.
The $55/50€ Alutech A stem gets 3D forged from the same alloy. It will be available in a +/-10° version, from 70-130mm lengths, with a claimed weight of 130g for the 100mm stem. The two bolt Alutech A seatpost again gets forged from the same 7075 alloy. It will be available in a 20mm offset only, in a 350mm length in both 27.2 (241g) and 31.6 (252g) diameters for $39/35€.
The Ergal handlebar is a 720mm wide double-butted bar with a low 1″ rise. It gets 9° of back and 5° of up sweep, and a claimed weight of 290g for $51/47€. The Ergal stem gets 3D forged from a 2014 alloy to better stand up to the rigors of trail riding (and crashing) while still staying light. Available for $40/36€ in a +/-6° version, it will come in 60-120mm lengths, with a 90mm claiming 124g.
