Jagwire showed off a new Slick-Shield Road Cable Kit that has a new cable coating that’s slicker than the current Teflon coated cables. The housing is the same, their Kevlar reinforced housing. Unfortunately, it’s so new they didn’t have the tech details on what exactly the coating is.

The Racer cable kits get five new clear colors (on left, Gold plus the bottom four), and they have a new Racer Extra Long Kit for bigger bikes or tandems (right).

Other: new cable cutting tool…

…a dual syringe bleed kit that looks a lot like Avid’s pro system…

…and smaller cable adjust barrels and Tube Top frame protectors (visible on both cables closer to the side of the top tube).

It should be noted that those cable cutters are for use only on hydraulic hose.

Yes, I’m guessing that is a hose cutter and not a cable cutter.

That makes more sense. I didn’t think that tool provided enough leverage to cut steel brake/shift housing.

The hose cutter works great- it’s a consumer-level tool (Jagwire also make a pro version). Much easier than balancing a wood block and hose on your knee while cutting with an X-Acto knife…
