Jamis has been a long-time player in the 650B mountain bike scene, with the Dakar XCT full suspension model getting an updated alloy frame at Interbike last year while the Nemesis and Dragon hardtails simply received spec updates. For fans of their carbon fiber models, those went away along with some of the 26″ wheeled models.
But, they hinted at new carbon fiber versions to come, and now we have a first look at what appears to composite framed Nemesis and XCT bikes. We captured the video’s bursts as screen grabs, posted below for your speculating pleasure…
The Nemesis hardtail looks like it has a small brace from the top tube to the extended seat tube, but that could just be some funny shadows.
Big cross section at the tapered headtube should make for solid steering.
The Dakar XCT keeps the same basic rocker arm and shock placement as its forebears, but likely drops a good bit of weight with the carbon frame.
130mm of travel, just like before, and if other spec remains the same, it’ll have a 142×12 Maxle rear triangle and tapered headtube, too.
Word is the new bikes will be unveiled at Sea Otter Classic in April, and we’ll be there for full coverage!
