Jerónimo Cycles, a Spanish brand that’s shown us some pretty nice and interestingly named titanium bikes in the past, has announced a new venture in steel for 2012.
Using high end Reynolds 853 tubing, they’ll produce a limited number of cZar road bikes and Rasputin mountain bikes. The Rasputin will be available in both 26″ and 29er, and all three models will have three sizes available and all are ready for racks.

PRESS RELEASE: Under the name Fe, iron in the Periodic Table of Elements, Jerónimo Cycles starts a new business venture. Known for its custom designs in titanium, both road and mountain -including full suspension-, this brand is about to develop a new exclusive and limited edition of steel frames made with the famous tubes of the British company Reynolds.
Steel is flexible and very robust material, and its resistance and reliability are legendary because it does not accumulate fatigue. Furthermore, steel is an emotional material which is often selected by classical and purist riders in search of something more than just a bicycle, looking for a whole experience.
For this new series, made in Spain, two models will be available: cZar for road, and Rasputin for mountain, the latter in both 26er and 29er versions. They will be easily identifiable by the dark grey and white colours typically used by the brand, and also for the model name preceded by “Fe”. Series 853 tube from Reynolds will be used for frames. Unlike the titanium series, three sizes (S, M and L) will be available for cZar and Rasputin 26er, while M, L and XL for Rasputin 29er. Geometry and technical specifications are fully detailed in the website.
In 2012 only 50 units are planned to be released for all three models, properly numbered with Serial Number and Year of Manufacture.
Mountain bike frames are exclusively designed for disc brake; in addition, all models are prepared for rear luggage rack installation.
It is now possible to make reservations by contacting Jerónimo Cycles through the website or email. Orders are expected to be delivered from May 1, 2012. Frames are provided individually or together with rigid fork, also made of steel. Depending on this, prices are between 650 and 720€, and they all comprise lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects.
