Headquartered on the North Island of New Zealand, comes some news for MTB parents. Kids Ride Shotgun, the makers of the Shotgun Front Mounted Child Seat, have released new kiddo-specific, technical riding jerseys today. The MTB jerseys are designed for children from 2 to 6 years of age and come in Dialled Dino, Loose Lion, and Upshift Unicorn.
Their goal for the pint-sized riding apparel was to “blend adult riding jersey aesthetic with bright colors and playful animals from our ABC book“. They hope that this will make it relatable for the kids to get them stoked about getting outside to ride more.
“For kids apparel, we really wanted to do something to get kids pumped on riding – we wanted to do something that looked MTB, but also something that kids could connect and relate to, not just a downsized version of an adult riding jersey”. – Dan, Kids Ride Shotgun
The new jerseys are equipped with a windproof nylon front panel to keep the kids warm when out on the trails. They are instructed from an eco-friendly cotton modal blend, which is more breathable than traditional synthetic fabrics. They are also said to be super durable for “ruff and tumble little people”.

These three new jerseys come in sizes 2, 4, and 6 years only. There are three characters to choose from and are available in-store or online for immediate delivery.
Also, the press release stated that along with Kids Ride Shotgun’s entry into cycling apparel, this release coincides with the release of an updated version of their frame-mounted Shotgun seat, the Shotgun 2.0. So be sure to check that out.
