Over the weekend, the 2019 Giro d’Italia got under way with a prologue TT from the heart of Bologna to Santuario di San Luca. While the real race is well under way with Primoz Roglic taking the ITT victory, you can still do a bit of your own time trial training with the newest level on Zwift.
Like the course in real life, the Bologna TT course is mostly flat through 6km, but then pitches upwards with a 2.1km climb where the grade inches up to 16%. The whole course totals 8.2km.
Today is also the last day to join the Giro d’Italia TT Challenge on Zwift, where one lucky Zwifter who completes the course will win a Maglia Rosa official jersey signed by the eventual 2019 Giro d’Italia Winner. Everyone who rides a lap of the new course by tonight will also gain an in-game Giro d’Italia cycling cap and socks for your avatar. More details below.
