Kate's Tram Bars, Grizzly Bars, Handle Bars and Stash Bars energy bars made from real whole foodsIt must be lunch time because I’m foraging through the clutter on my desk and found nothing but wrappers and labels from things long eaten that I meant to post about quite some time ago.

Kate’s Real Foods just launched two new flavors, the Handle Bar and Stash Bar, which are a Dark Cherry Almond and Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Flax Hemp bar respectively. While I wasn’t a huge fan of the CasBar with it’s cayenne, the original Tram and Grizzly bars are pretty darn tasty.

While at NAHBS, I met the two girls that started Thunderbird Energetica down in Texas and make some soy-free, gluten-free bars with no added sugars that are downright awesome. And to wash it down, there’s Chameleon’s cold-brewed coffee. Check them out after the break…

Thunderbird Energetica bars use real, whole foods like cashews, figs, carrots, walnuts, cherries, cacao, hemp, etc., and are really, really freakin’ good. The best part? They’re made without soy or gluten, but full of a special little ingredient I call Love.

chameleon cold brew coffee in a concentrated ready to drink bottleAlso from Austin is Chameleon Cold Brew Coffee, a concoction that’s batch brewed at low temperatures for more than 24 hours to produce a smooth, extra caffeinated coffee that’s much lower in acid than your hot brewed morning joe.

It’s made from 100% organic, fair-trade Arabica beans and filtered water and comes in 16oz or 32oz glass bottles, and you simply mix it about 50/50 with water to get a normal cup of coffee, hot or cold, or mix it up however you like with milk, cream, etc. They have recipe suggestions on their website.
