Our readers love the North American Handmade Bicycle Show, and so do we. That’s why we were all saddened to learn of its postponement due to the COVID-19 virus.

What to do? The show has been rescheduled to August, but we still have plenty of great NAHBS content to share with you. We’re going to have our usual series of pre-NAHBS interviews to put the spotlight on a handful of our favorite builders – and will start sharing these stories NOW, when the original show was scheduled to begin. Economic times will be tough for us all, but perhaps even more so for small independent businesses. Thus, we feel it is our duty to help promote these builders, and keep the excitement going all the way to the forthcoming August NAHBS.

Please enjoy this interview with Chris Reichel and Adam Miller of Revel Bikes. While Revel does not make custom frames, they are a supporter of NAHBS, and are launching some exciting new stuff (and check out our past coverage, too).

Bikerumor.com: What’s your name, your bike brand, and where are you based?

Revel: Chris Reichel and Adam Miller from Revel Bikes. We are based in Carbondale, CO.

Bikerumor.com: How long have you been making bikes? How’d you get into it?

Revel: Revel has been in business for about 13 months and Revel Wheels are 1 month old.

Bikerumor.com: What’s going to be the highlight in your NAHBS booth this year?

Revel: The RW30 wheelset was our main display piece (plus a couple bikes from Why Cycles and Revel Bikes!).

Lighter, stronger, made in America and 100% recyclable. These rims are made from the brand new Fusion-FiberTM technology developed and manufactured in an aerospace facility in southern Utah. There’s no environmentally harmful or brittle epoxy in this carbon- it is a toughened, high performance composite polymer that makes for a significantly more durable, lighter, and better riding wheel with a nice damped feel.

Bikerumor.com: What’s your inspiration lately?

Revel: We want to make the best riding mountain bikes and components in the world. That’s what drives us. But we are constantly inspired by our diverse and beautiful terrain all around us in western Colorado and our bikes and components are a reflection of that.

Bikerumor.com: Any unique questions you use to help customers get a bike that’s really dialed for them?

Revel: Not really. We are so young and have a pretty limited product offering (for now) that most customers know exactly what they want when they come to us.

Bikerumor.com: What’s the oddest request you’ve gotten for a custom build?

Revel: There isn’t much that we would consider odd. All 12 of us are such bike nerds in our own way, that we think every build is badass.

Bikerumor.com: Someone calls you up and says “Can you make me a race bike?” – Describe the first kind of bike that pops in your head?

Revel: We will hopefully have some more race-y product soon! Stay tuned.

Bikerumor.com: Sum your brand up in one word:

Revel: ADDICTED (to riding every day).

Bikerumor.com: What is your website and Instagram handle?

Revel: RevelBikes.com
