For their third year of collaboration with Basso Bikes, Australian cycling apparel maker MAAP have again created a special edition bike for their amateur race team. Blending the all new 2019 Basso Diamante with the five-stripe color scheme that the MAAP/Basso team will race on in the coming season, is a premium all-around Italian road bike that you can ride too.
MAAP-Basso Diamante limited team edition road bike
The MAAP-Basso Diamante features a dark fade from black to deep navy blue, with the five-stripe design that is MAAP debuted on the Worlds jerseys as a take on the rainbow stripes, and will feature in their 2019 team kit.
MAAP-Basso Diamante limited edition bike – Tech Details
Underneath the pretty paint is the same all-new aero all-rounder that we offered a detailed look over from Eurobike this summer. Half again stiffer and more integrated than its previous generation, the 2019 Diamante is a race ready carbon road bike that now comes in both rim brake & disc brake models.
The made it Italy carbon monocoque Diamante features aero shaped tubing, modular internal cable routing, and a 1.5″ tapered steerer within a dropped headtube design with a semi-integrated stem & spacers.
The rim brake bike uses direct mount calipers, and the disc brake version includes 12mm thru-axles and flat mount brakes.
Both frames are road racing specific and are built for max 28mm tires, and uses a 3-bolt integrated seatpost clamp that Basso claims helps isolate vibrations from the rider.
MAAP-Basso Diamante limited edition bike – Pricing & Availability
The MAAP-Basso Diamante will be available in both braking versions at the start of the year, with pricing beginning at AU$6985 for the frameset (frame, fork, headset, seatpost & stem), or roughly $5000/4400€.
You can grab one of the limited edition bikes by reaching out directly to MAAP, visiting your local Basso Bikes dealer, or even contacting Basso directly, too.
